Why do we have an insurance fee?
A: “I know that the insurance fee was a challenge for some people…It’s very tough but we need the money to pay for repairs…so that has been a challenge, helping people figure out ways to get their fee in so that their computer is covered.”
Will we have these laptops next year?
A: “As long as the program is successful and the teachers and the students are moving forward meaning that we can see that students and teachers are acquiring new skills and test scores, not just Sols, but tests that show student growth, are good, I’m sure we will keep the support of the community because without the support of the community in Goochland we can’t do any of this after all, everything that we have in the Goochland schools is payed for by the taxpayers and if they decide they don’t like it then, they can decide they don’t want the money to go to any of this. So we have to constantly prove that this is good. That we are not wasting your money…”
Why can’t we play games?
A: Well the answer is “It’s hard to go to the taxpayers and say we spent all this money to buy laptops and the kids are just playing games.”
Can we put stickers on our laptops?
A: Since these computers are leased..it is very important that the computers are not marked in anyway…please don’t put any stickers on your laptop, please don’t use any permanent marker on your laptop, please keep the protective cases on you laptop so that they are not dented and scratched because when we give them back, we just give them back and then we can get new ones.
Why can’t we put certain applications on the computer?
A: “We just don’t have access to everything. A lot of what we put on the laptops has to be purchased…”
